Available for new Shopify projects
I build, maintain and extend Shopify stores.
I build new stores, fix the ones that already exist, and develop the integrations Shopify alone doesn't cover. I come from front-end and I've run an e-commerce of my own: I look at a store both as a developer and as someone who worked it from the inside.

What I do
I join a Shopify project in three ways.
Sometimes I start from scratch. Sometimes I fix a store that already exists. Sometimes I build the part Shopify alone can't. Often all three on the same project.
Building from scratch
From Figma to a custom theme. I develop the store section by section, testing as I go. Not an off-the-shelf theme: what the brand actually needs.

Support and maintenance
I step into stores that are already live and keep them running. I fix the bugs that pile up, often after a migration like Magento to Shopify, and add new features without breaking what works.

Custom development
When Shopify alone isn't enough: integrations with external services, bespoke features, and, where the project calls for it, web apps with React and Next.js.
Integrations · React · Next.js
Who I work with
I work with agencies and Shopify experts.
Most of my projects come from ongoing collaborations with agencies and other developers, on stores for real brands.

Founder experience
I've run my own store.
In 2025 I founded Harcen, a men's skincare brand, together with a friend. For about a year I ran everything: product, content, campaigns, store. In February 2026 we closed it, the timing wasn't right. If I started again today I'd do many things differently, beginning with the numbers before the product. But what stays with me is knowing e-commerce from the inside, end to end, not just building it.

How I work
The same method, every project.
Whether we start from scratch or step into an existing store, the phases are these. So you always know where we are.
Analysis
I start from the business, not the code. What goals it has, what platform it's on today, what isn't working. From there I decide whether customizing a theme is enough or whether it needs to be built from scratch.
Structure
I design the architecture and the user paths. If there's a migration, this is where I plan how to move everything without losing pieces along the way.
Development
I build section by section, testing as I go. Incremental deliveries, never everything at the end: you watch the project grow and we fix things early.
Optimization
I measure load performance, test, improve. A project doesn't end at launch. Once it's live I look at how to make it better.
About me
Let's talk.

I'm Oleksandr, a freelance developer since 2025. I come from front-end, a few years in-house, most recently at Zanichelli in Bologna. Today I work mostly on Shopify, alongside agencies and other developers, on stores for real brands. Self-taught.
